Established in 1978, Shanghai Translation Publishing House (STPH/上海译文出版社) is a prominent Chinese publisher dedicated to translating books from various languages. STPH now offers a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles by renowned authors such as Haruki Murakami/村上春樹, Kazuo Ishiguro/石黒一雄, Jorge Luis Borges, Vladimir Nabokov, Milan Kundera, Marguerite Duras, Philip Roth, and many others. Operating independently under STPH, Seven Seas Studio(SSS/七海制造局) aims to bring the literary realm into physical reality. The story of Seven Seas begins with a map of Booktown, a fictional town inspired by the old city centre of Shanghai back in the 1920s. Each address on the map features one of our beloved writers and their works. Located at 451 Milky Way, SSS accepts commissions from around the Seven Seas, to organise, design, and produce a wide range of merchandise related to books and reading.
